From Dragon Mania Legends (DML) Wiki
(Redirected from Campaign Map Quests)The main story, contained in a series of Campaign (battle) Quests called the Campaign, is spread across islands occupied by enemies, for the Trainer to complete, freeing Dragolandia. The Campaign Map can be played in different modes, namely Normal Mode, Heroic Mode, and Nightmare Mode. Once a mode is chosen, the Trainer can engage in battle by selecting any available Main Quest or Side Quest or any occupied Mine (if available in the selected mode).
Accessing
The Campaign Map is accessed by pressing the:
- button (appears before Trainer Level 16).
- button, then pressing the Campaign button (appears after player level 16).
- Ancient Portal (building), then pressing the button.
Campaign Map Modes
Normal Mode can be played from the beginning of the game, while Heroic Mode unlocks once the Trainer reconquers the Third Island (Industria) of the first mode. Nightmare Mode unlocks once the Trainer completes the Heroic Mode. The Sigil Campaign is not a true Campaign Map mode, but rather a time-limited event. The Trainer can toggle between the modes using one of the buttons provided (the last appearing only if a Sigil Campaign event is in progress).
Normal Mode
See Normal Mode for specific battle and reward information.
Heroic Mode
See Heroic Mode for specific battle and reward information.
Nightmare Mode
See Nightmare Mode for specific battle and reward information.
Sigil Campaign
The Sigil Campaign is a temporary, time-limited event map that appears only when Sigil Campaign Events are ongoing, it is not a permanent part of the Campaign Map.
See Sigil Campaign and Sigil System for more information.
Quests
There are five types of quests: Main Quests, Side Quests, Boss Quests, Rusty Gates, and Mines. Quests must be completed with at least one star, to advance through the map and open new areas. Completing a quest gives rewards based on quest type and the number of Battle Stars earned.

Main Quests
See Normal Quests and Heroic Quests for a complete list.
Main Quests travel along the path going through each island, and each quest must be completed to advance. Available quests are indicated by round / quest markers, turning green / once completed. Unavailable quests (quests not yet reached) are indicated by gray / quest markers.
Main Quest rewards can include Gold, Food, Scrolls, and Experience based on the number of battle stars achieved. Once beaten with three Battle Stars, Main Quests display them below their quest markers; they can be fought and won again but give lower rewards and exclude Scrolls and Food.

Side Quests
See Normal Side Quests and Heroic Side Quests for a complete list.
Side Quests are repeatable quests that branch from the main Campaign Map path. They are only reached after clearing the Main Quest which it is attached to, the one it shares the pre-decimal number with, or by unlocking the Rusty Gate leading to it. Multiple Side Quests on the same path will have the same pre-decimal number with sequential decimal numbers (example: 26.1, 26.2, 26.3). After some or all available Side Quests are beaten, a limited number of these quests refresh automatically after approximately 2 hours.
Side Quest markers are square with crossed swords on them:
- / – indicates battles not yet completed, showing a Scroll Notification.
- / – indicates unavailable (and uncompleted) quests not yet reached, meaning prior battles must first be completed.
- / – indicates won battles, with the number of Battle Stars earned displaying below them.
Once beaten with three Battle Stars, Side Quests display them below their quest markers, and the battles regenerate on their own providing additional Food and Gold, Scrolls and Experience (which they also give based on the number of Battle Stars achieved, in the case of one or two stars earned). Those with one or two stars remain uncompleted and unable to refresh until three stars are earned. Furthermore, a sliding-scale limit exists for the number of Side Quests that regenerate, which depends on Trainer progress. The further up the Campaign Map, the more Side Quests regenerate.
Side Quest Regeneration | |
---|---|
Quest # | Maximum Quests |
Quest 45 | 6 |
Quest 93 | 10 |
Quest 120 | 15 |
Rewards given when Side Quests become active again, are 30% of the total rewards obtained on the latest Campaign Map. In other words, the further on the Campaign Map the Trainer is, the higher the Side Quest rewards will be. Dragons encountered the first time a Side Quest is fought, as well as Dragon levels and skills, are the same for everyone. Starting with the first refresh, the opposing Dragons vary over time and are generated randomly, while their levels are adjusted based on the levels of the Trainer's Dragons.
Finally, Clan members can use a Clan Fortress Power, which reactivates a certain number of Side Quests in Normal Mode, depending on Clan League and Clan Fortress level.
Boss Quests
See Boss Dragons for more information.
Boss Quests are difficult battles on the Campaign map that must be defeated to continue, their quest markers have distinct colors and features:
- / – indicates battles not yet won.
- / – indicates unavailable (and uncompleted) battles not yet reached, meaning prior battles must first be completed.
- / – indicates battles won and passable.
Periodically, on the Main Quest path, two further types of Boss Quests are encountered. Minor Boss Quests are more difficult battles meant to prepare fighters for tougher upcoming battles. Starting from the sixth island, most of these Boss Quests consist of two waves of three Dragons each. Major Boss Quests have a Boss Dragon siting atop it that must be defeated.
Once a Boss is defeated in Normal Mode, it is immediately available for purchase, and the next quest on the main path opens.
Boss Quest rewards can include Gold, Food, Scrolls, and Experience based on the number of battle stars achieved.
Rusty Gates
See Normal Rusty Gates and Heroic Rusty Gates for a complete list.
Rusty Gates are places on the Campaign Map unlocked either with help from friends, by pressing the Ask Friends button once the closed gate is selected, or by spending 5 Gems per slot. When the conditions for opening a gate are met, the Gate Unlocked Notification appears atop it. Certain Side Quests and Mines can only be accessed by opening these gates.
There are 31 Rusty Gates in Normal Mode, whereas in Heroic Mode there are only 20. This is because Mines are not available in Heroic Mode, and gates not included all lead solely to Mines. Each gate is unlocked after beating the quest it is attached to. Once a gate is open, it remains open.
Mines
See Normal Mode and Heroic Mode for a complete list.
Mines provide a regular source of Gold while controlled. These are unlocked while advancing through the Normal Mode on the Campaign Map. There are 37 mines in total.
Mines markers are initially yellow with a pickaxe symbol and a Battle Notification above it. The marker color and notification indicate that the enemy has possession of the mine. To gain mine control for Gold income, the occupying Dragons must be defeated.
After winning the battle, the Mine marker turns green, and the notification disappears. At this point, the Mine is accessible and begins generating Gold. Pressing the Gold Notification, available at 50% or more of its current capacity, collects the gold. Mines have a Gold production rate and maximum capacity, which varies per mine.
Mines are retaken by enemy Characters after a minimum of 48 hours. Retaken Mines stop generating Gold, though the Gold produced while in the Trainer's possession is not lost and can still be claimed. The enemy uses different Dragons to defend mines, which must be defended to maintain a claim on them.
The rewards given, and the Dragons encountered the first time a mine is fought, as well as Dragon levels and skills, are the same for everyone. Starting with the first refresh, opposing Dragons vary and are generated randomly, while their strength is adjusted based on that of the Trainer's Dragons. Once a mine is conquered by the Trainer, it cannot be re-battled until after being retaken by the enemy.
Scoring
Battle scoring consists of a point system for which Battle Stars are allocated. The number of stars received determines the level of rewards given. Once three stars are obtained, a higher score does not give better rewards. The point system is divided into three tiers, based on the difficulty of a battle (easy, medium, and hard). The Trainers must earn a minimum number of points to obtain a certain number of stars:
Tier | |||
---|---|---|---|
Easy | 3,000 | 4,000 | 5,000 |
Medium | 5,000 | 19,000 | 34,000 |
Hard | 5,000 | 24,000 | 38,000 |
At the end of a battle, Trainers receive:
Score | Action | Maximum |
---|---|---|
1,000 points each for | Every perfect hit landed. | 12 |
Every strong attack landed. | 12 | |
2,000 points each for | Unleashing Dragon Fury. | 2 |
5,000 points each for | Each opposing Dragon defeated with only one hit. | 4 |
Each undefeated Dragon remaining once the battle is won. | 3 | |
Bonus points | Given for how quickly a battle is won.[1] | 17 |
Given by the remaining health the Trainer's Dragons have at the end of the battle.[2] | 15,000 |
Rewards
A Campaign Map Chest is given whose contents are based on the number of battle stars achieved. Chests can include Gold, Food, Scrolls, and Experience. Except for scrolls, the amount of each resource given is increased by 50% in the form of a second, VIP Campaign Chest, if the Trainer has an active VIP Status. Additionally, if videos are available to watch that day in exchange for (2,000*Level Modifier) Gold, the Trainer is given the More Rewards button for that purpose after winning a battle. Gold received from watching videos is also not affected by the VIP Status.
Other Chests
See Normal Chests and Heroic Chests for a complete list.
Other chests may appear in Normal Mode after defeating a specific quest or opening a specific gate. These chests do not include Scrolls or Experience, but upon opening offers at random one of Food, Gold, or a Gem. VIP Status has no effect on these chest contents, only on chests immediately rewarded for winning battles.
Battle Scenes
Each battle on the Campaign Map takes place in various battle scenes, depending on the quest and island. The scenes in Heroic Mode, although the same as those in Normal Mode, are slightly darker in tone.

History
- Update 7.6: Made the Clan Fortress Power related to reactivating Side Quests apply to Normal Mode on the Campaign Map.
- Update 6.2: Introduced Nightmare Mode, a new and more difficult Campaign map.
- Update 5.3: Added a Sigil Campaign event toggle button to the Campaign Map as a shortcut for when Sigil Campaign Events are in-progress.
- Update 4.0: Introduced Champion's Island, along with new quests, mines, and gates for it.
- Update 3.9: Increased maximum Side Quests that can refresh from 13 to 15, starting with Quest 120 instead of Quest 150.
- Update 3.8: Redesigned Daily Quests as Daily Tasks, meaning that Side Quests no longer refresh through this feature. Prior, Side Quests from Normal Mode, that were standalone and not part of a chain, could regenerate as part of the discontinued "Divide and Reconquer" goals, even if they were not previously cleared with three stars.
- The interval at which Side Quests refresh was decreased from between 5 and 7 hours to approximately 2 hours.
- Update 3.6: Made enemy Dragon level in battles go as high as 82, while the Trainers' Dragons remained limited to Level 80.
- Made Enchantment Stars available for Dragons in Main and Side Quests.
- Update 3.3: Replaced the "!" icon with the unlocked gate icon.
- Update 3.2: Replaced the "!" icon with the swords icon for mines.
- Update 2.7: Added ad video watching in exchange for more rewards after winning battles.
- Update 3.2: Replaced the "!" icon with the swords icon for mines.
- Update 2.3: Added a new Campaign Map island called Glacios and added new quests, mines, and gates for it.
- Update 1.5: Introduced two new campaign islands called Gloamis and Illumina, with new quests, mines, and gates for it.
- Added a Side Quests recapture limit that depends on the Trainer's progress on the Campaign Map, meaning the further the progression, the more Side Quests can be recaptured simultaneously. The recaptured Side Quest(s) need to be cleared before they can be retaken.
- Added wave battles for Main Quests.
- Introduced a sliding-scale limit for Side Quests, and reconfigured regeneration of them. Prior, if three battle stars were acquired on all the Side Quests on one path, that path regenerated new challenges after a time.
- Update 1.3: Added a set of arrows between quests, allowing for easy navigation between them.
- Changed Side Quests to repopulate with Dragons at slightly lower levels than before.
- Changed Mines, so only these were recaptured by enemy characters and not the Trainer as well.
- Increased the time for a mine to be recaptured.
- Corrected the issue with rival Trainers appearing to have taken possession of a mine, and increased the time it took for a mine to be recaptured.
- Made Side Quests refresh with slightly lower-leveled Dragons.
- Update 1.1: Introduced Heroic Mode, allowing Normal Mode to be redone with tougher battles and bigger rewards.
- Update 1.0: Introduced the Campaign Map featuring five islands: Numa, Arto, Industria, Alma, Crysto.
