From Dragon Mania Legends (DML) Wiki
The seventh classified type is Ancient, and it is the highest tier of classification in terms of rarity. It mostly applies to Dragons, but there are other instances where gameplay elements have a designed rarity. As such, this rarity also applies to Ancient Chests.
In terms of Dragons, this type includes all Dragons that have the Ancient Element as their base Element. There are currently 42 Dragons with the Ancient classification.
Dragons with this base Element have two additional Elements which can be unlocked (awoken); the first upon reaching Level 20, and the second at Level 30. Awakening Elements can only be done from the inside that Dragon's Habitat. The second Element must be awoken before the third Element can be. Trainers themselves must be Level 20 to awaken the first Element which costs 750,000 Gold and takes 1 day to unlock, and must be Level 30 to awaken the second Element which costs 99 Gems and takes 2 days to unlock. During Element awakening, Dragons still produce Gold in their Habitat, but cannot be interacted with or perform any action whatsoever. The icon appears above their Habitat when awakening is completed.
Ancient Dragons can only be housed in an Ancient Habitat, regardless of awoken Elements. Even if their secondary Elements are not awoken, Enchantment Materials matching those Elements are still required to enchant the Dragon. Additionally, when specific Elements are required to access gameplay elements or battle settings (such as in Castle Events), Ancient Dragons possessing that Element must have it awoken before access is permitted.
