Ancient Islands
From Dragon Mania Legends (DML) Wiki
An Ancient Island is a small, sea-floating structure that only appears south of the Main Island during special, multi-event experiences. During the event (most of which occurred in the past, the island became the epicenter of multiple limited-time events using Ancient Thematics.
Each Ancient event had a distinct type of Ancient Chest, Ancient Ticket, and (purchasable) Ancient Ticket Generator isolated to that event. Ancient Chests were mystical boxes, filled with various resources and specific Dragon Pieces, which could only be opened through the use of the associated Ancient Tickets. Ancient Tickets had to be (and must during an ongoing event) used to open the corresponding Ancient Chest before the Ancient event ended, as both disappear at event end.
Opportunities to obtain certain Ancient Dragons are what sets the Ancient Island experience aside from other events. During the visibility of the island, specific Ancient Dragons could be obtained by completing Ancient Events, by reaching goals in Boss Challenges, by Breeding, and by opening Ancient Chests.

Interface[edit source | edit]
The interface of each Ancient Island was made up of several buttons, each which lead to a specific area, or related to the island itself. The appearance of the interface and its associated buttons changed throughout the unfolding of each "chapter" of the event. The interface and the buttons changed in accordance with specific ongoing events. Though their appearance was different, some buttons had the same function across different islands while other buttons lead to an area or event specific to that island.
Ancient Chest[edit source | edit]
The Ancient Chest button allowed the Trainer to access the Chest Room where Tickets could be exchanged to open Ancient Chests. The Ancient Chest button itself displayed the main reward Dragon and the time remaining in the event. In the top left-hand corner is a i button could be pressed to display all possible rewards held in the Ancient Chests, and the number of items awarded for each chest opened (the information card also displayed a i that could be used to bring up the awarding stats).
Main Rewards[edit source | edit]
This section showed all of the Dragon rewards relevant to the event. Each Dragon image had a i button displayed in the lower-left corner which allowed the Trainer to access that Dragon's Codex entry.
Collection[edit source | edit]
The Collection button(s) provided direct access to the ongoing Collection Event(s). The option had the same function as accessing the event through its banner from the list of current events. The button displayed the image of the prize Dragon, the number of acquisitions still needed, and the time life until the event ended.
Shop[edit source | edit]
The Shop button, provided access to options for Limited-Time Offers, Event Currency (offers for limited currency), Ancient Tickets (purchasable using Gems), Ancient Market, Dragons, and Milestones.
Limited-Time Offers[edit source | edit]
The Limited-Time Offers button provided access to either the list of promotions or the window for purchasing specific limited currency.
Event Currency (Stones)[edit source | edit]
The event currency button provided offers for limited time In-Game Currency (stones) and/or the associated shrine where applicable.
Holy Talismans[edit source | edit]
Holy Talismans were a form of currency that could be spent only in the Shop's Dragons section, in exchange for Dragon Pieces.
Ancient Ticket[edit source | edit]
The Ancient Ticket button provided offers to purchase Ancient Tickets in exchange for Gems.
Ancient Market[edit source | edit]
The Ancient Market button provides a selection of time-limited offers where Silver Horns, collected from Epic Dragon Dice Chests, can be spent on various items such as: Relics, Food, Sigil Chests, VIP Tickets, Arena Energy, Decorations from past events, and Dragons.
Dragons[edit source | edit]
The Dragons button provided a list of the Dragons, their elements, the pieces required to obtain each of them, the Get Pieces button, and the number of Dragon Grid (whichever event ran) levels that needed to be completed to unlock each.
The Get Pieces button provided a place to "trade in" holy talismans for Dragon pieces, without the use of an altar.
Milestones[edit source | edit]
The Milestones button provided access the Milestone Rewards section directly, to view progress and typically displayed the Currency Generator associated with the event. Premium milestone Rewards were only activated through the purchase of the event's currency generator. Once activated, additional Milestone Rewards became available.
Enter the Dragon Dice[edit source | edit]
The Dragon Dice or Dragon Board button provided access the current Dragon Dice Event. This option had the same function as accessing the event through its banner from the list of current events. The button typically displayed the Ancient Dragon of the Top Rewards and the time left until the event ended.
Ancient Shrines[edit source | edit]
Where applicable, Ancient Shrines (small buildings with limited functionality) provided an additional method of obtaining Ancient Event Currencies. Each shine produced currencies at a different rate per hour, and their currency-holding capacity varied. Each building also gave additional currency upon purchase.
For easier collection, a appeared above the building to indicate it had accumulated at least 30% of its capacity, while the
appeared when the shrine was at 100% capacity. Both icons displayed the type of currency generated by the building. Apart from this method of collecting, currency could also be collected by pressing the
button after the building was selected, or by pressing the Collect button from the information screen that appeared through the
option.
Each shrine costed real money in USD, it was built instantly, yielded no experience points, and had a size of 2x2 squares. It could not be sold, but it could be stored in the inventory . While Trainers could buy more than one shrine of a different type, the exact same shrine could be purchased only once.
These buildings were only functional during the time their associated Ancient Chest could be accessed, after which they turned into regular decorations. Once an Ancient Shrine had its functionality limited to that of a decoration, it still could not be sold and could (and can) only be stored in the inventory. Selecting the shrine and pressing the button opened a small description of the generator.
Special Offers[edit source | edit]
The Special Offers button allowed access to either the list of promotions or the window for purchasing specific limited currency. This option had the same function as accessing the promotions through the Main Shop button or the currency-purchasing window using the button on the main screen. The button typically represented a chest and Ancient Tickets and/or the associated currency generator and/or currency where applicable.
