From Dragon Mania Legends (DML) Wiki

Battle Energy is a resource required to fight in most Battle Venues. Battle energy is consumed when a battle commences, and must either regenerate on its own over a period of time, or be recovered using other means. Use and recovery of Battle Energy differs depending upon where it is used.

Portal Energy

Portal Energy Icon.png

Portal Energy Portal Energy Icon.png is the energy used each time a battle is fought on the Campaign Map for the Normal Mode, Heroic Mode, and Nightmare Mode campaigns.

Base Amount

The base amount of Portal energy is determined by Ancient Portal level, the initial amount being three, while the maximum is nine. Trainers with an active VIP Status receive additional energy to their base amount. VIP levels 1-9 receive two energy units, VIP levels 10-18 receive three energy units, and VIP levels 19-20 receive four energy units (thus the Trainer can have up to a maximum of thirteen base energy units).

Regeneration

Portal Energy automatically regenerates at 1 unit every 25 minutes, up to the maximum base amount. Energy can also be received as a gift from visiting players, from Events, or by using the related Clan Fortress Power if the Trainer is a member of a Clan.

Refilling

Portal Energy is refilled by pressing the + Button.png button on the pre-battle screen Portal Energy Icon.png9+ Button.png counter, or by trying to engage a battle without any energy left (which opens the refill screen). It can also be purchased with Gems Icon.png Gems (at the cost of 3 Gems per energy), is replenished when leveling up, or refilled when upgrading the Ancient Portal. Those methods fully replenish the energy to its maximum base amount, there is no option to select the amount to replenish. The only way to replenish smaller amounts is to use small amounts at a time, and then replenish the amount remaining to base maximum.

Holding

The total amount of energy a Trainer can hold in their energy bar is unlimited. Any energy gifted or rewarded is added to the current amount, which displays in green if overloaded (more than the base amount). Overloading stops the automatic regeneration of energy until the amount drops below the base amount again. See Battle and Campaign Map for battle cost and Campaign Mode battle specifics.

Arena Energy

Arena Energy Arena Energy Icon.png is the energy used each time a battle is fought in the Dragon League.

Base Amount

The base amount of Arena energy is four. There is no way to increase the base amount other than by purchasing VIP Status. VIP levels 1-9 receive two additional energy units, VIP levels 10-18 receive three additional units, and VIP levels 19-20 receive four additional units (thus the Trainer can have a maximum of eight base energy units).

Regeneration

Arena Energy automatically regenerates at 1 every 1 hour and 30 minutes, up to the maximum base amount. Energy can also be received from Events, or by using the related Clan Fortress Power if the Trainer is a member of a Clan.

Refilling

Arena Energy is refilled by pressing the + Button.png button on any battle venue screen that displays the Arena Energy Icon.png4+ Button.png counter, or by trying to engage a battle without any energy left (which opens the refill screen). It can also be purchased with Gems Icon.png Gems (at the cost of 25 Gems per energy), or is replenished through leveling up. Both methods fully replenish the energy to its maximum base amount, there is no option to select the amount to replenish.

See Battle and Dragon League for battle cost and Arena battle specifics.

Emerald Energy

Emerald Energy Icon.png

Emerald Energy Emerald Energy Icon.png is the energy used each time a battle is fought in Emerald Wars, a Clan Event.

Base Amount

The base amount of Emerald Energy is six. Every player has 6 Emerald Energy Icon.png at maximum as a base amount, and attacking a mine costs 1 Emerald Energy. If a Trainer's Dragon participates in a battle for control of an emerald mine, it needs to rest for a certain period before it can fight again (it can be used outside the event while resting). The resting time can be skipped using Revitalization Tokens earned completing regular Clan Quests.

Regeneration

Emerald Energy automatically regenerates at 1 every 60 minutes, up to the maximum base amount. It can also be recovered through Revitalization Tokens Icon.png Revitalization Tokens (at the cost of 1 token per energy), or through Gems Icon.png Gems (at the cost of 5 Gems per energy). Replenishing through Gems fully replenishes the energy, there is no option to select the amount to replenish. The only way to replenish smaller amounts is to use small amounts at a time, and then replenish the amount remaining to base maximum.

Refilling

Emerald Energy is refilled by either pressing the + Button.png button on the Emerald Wars main screen Emerald Energy Icon.png0+ Button.png counter, or by trying to engage a battle without any energy left (which opens the refill screen, where energy can be refilled using Revitalization Tokens or Gems).
