The Great Dragon Race
From Dragon Mania Legends (DML) Wiki
The Great Dragon Race is a recurring, race-style Clan Event, in which members of participating Clans complete various tasks to earn ingredients needed for recipes. The ingredients are then used to prepare a specific dish over a set time frame. Finally, the completed dish is fed to the Clan Dragon, allowing it to move forward on the racetrack, similar to Sugar Rush, another race-style Clan event.
Timing & Requirements
The Great Dragon Race runs for 4 days when all participating Clans in the game are split into groups of maximum ten, in accordance to the league they are currently in. These groups then compete against one another to win the race. Clans can participate only if they qualify by having a Clan Dragon fully hatched.
Configuration
Each member can cook a maximum of 30 recipes to earn points in the Event. After that limit is reached, up to 5 additional recipes can be cooked in exchange for 20 Gems per recipe. Only one recipe can be cooked at a time. Trainers can opt to refresh recipes once every 2 hours for free by pressing the button and waiting for the requisite refresh time. An immediate refresh of a recipe costs Gems, and is done by pressing the Skip
button. Each recipe has a different rarity and takes a different amount of time to cook. The recipes given are random and the chances of their rarity varies. Once a dish is complete, it can be fed to the Clan Dragon, allowing it to move forward in The Great Dragon Race.
Quests
For the duration of this event, Clan Quests (in addition to the regular rewards) award ingredients needed for recipes. The ingredients that are given are randomly generated by the game; thus, no ingredient is bound to a particular type of quest.
Viewing Ingredients
The ingredients that a Trainer currently has can be accessed by going to the recipe selection screen and choosing the Ingredients button. Returning to the recipes screen, from the ingredients screen, is done by pressing the ◀ Back to Recipes button.
Ingredient Donations & Requests
In addition to completing Clan Quests, Trainers can request specific ingredients in Clan chat once every 3 hours by pressing the Ask! button next to the total amount of each ingredient. Whenever any Clan member makes a request for ingredients, a notification appears in the bottom-right corner of the tab and automatically requests 5 of the chosen ingredient. Each Clan member can donate 1 to 5 ingredients per request, with the maximum limit for each donation set at 5. However, multiple Clan members can donate. Donating is done by pressing the Donate button to the right of the ingredient on the request. Each Clan member can donate up to a total of 40 ingredients per day on various requests. Pressing the i button right next to the ingredient shows the Trainer how many times they donated that day and how much time is left until the donation limit resets.
Recipes
Once the Trainer has enough ingredients to cook a recipe, they must select a recipe and then press the Start button at the right of it; pressing this commences cooking.
Recipe Types and Ingredients
Each recipe has a different rarity and thus a different difficulty level, ingredients required, as well as a time limit for completion. The more rare a recipe is, the more challenging it is to complete and the higher the points awarded for its completion.
Each recipe type also requests a different amount of each ingredient, depending on recipe rarity and the order in which the ingredient appears in the recipe.
Scoring/Feeding
Once a recipe is finished, to receive points for it and start another recipe, the rewarded food must be fed to the Clan Dragon. Feeding the Clan Dragon is done by dragging the food to the Dragon's mouth, which moves it forward in The Great Dragon Race.
Rewards
See Limited Collections for details about the rewarded Dragons.
There are three different sources that reward participating Trainers with prizes, namely progress or milestone rewards, the MVP reward, and the leaderboard rewards. All three depend on the league the participating Clans are in. Clans in higher leagues will receive better rewards, but the requirements will also be higher.
Milestone Progress Rewards
There are five milestone rewards for the Clan to reach collectively. Each milestone rewards a card pack that gives Dragon Pieces only for a Clan-Exclusive Dragon.
On the racetrack, each of the five milestones for each Clan is marked with a icon, as well as the scores needed to reach them.
See Clan-Exclusive Dragons for a list and odds for each Dragon Piece card awarded.
MVP Bonus Reward
The most active member of the week will be awarded status and a certain amount of Clan Coins, depending on the league their Clan is in. Members can see the current MVP rankings by going to the menu where recipes can be cooked and pressing the MVP
button. The rankings can also be accessed by opening the Clan interface, selecting the
option, then pressing the Clan Event
MVP tab. The latter option can also be used when there is no ongoing Clan Event, while the former can only be used during an ongoing event.
Leaderboard
Accessing
The leaderboard is accessed by visiting the menu where recipes are cooked, then pressing the Event
Leaderboard button. On the leaderboard screen, the following features appear:
- The score of each Clan.
- The time left until the event ends.
- Each Clan's active Clan Dragon
- Each Clan's Dragon position on the racetrack.
- The points needed for each milestone.
- The i and Rewards: buttons.
Pressing the i or Rewards: buttons displays the leaderboard prizes. The former button disappears if the Clan has scored the minimum needed to qualify for the leaderboard, as well as the text on the left of it, and is replaced by the icon.
Eligibility
Clans must score a certain minimum to be eligible for receiving the leaderboard prizes. Clans that don't reach the minimum do not receive any prizes, regardless of their final ranking at the event's end.

Rewards
The rewarded card pack gives Dragon Pieces only for Clan Dragons, except Chip, and the amount is in relation to the Clan's final ranking. When claiming grand prizes, it is possible to receive cards for Clan Dragons already owned. As only one of each Dragon can be owned, the applicable card is automatically compensated for by replacement with a certain amount of Clan Coins.
