Possible Wings Issue
The table of the body types shows that all dragons of the Anserine and Cobby types have wings, yet there are some exceptions like the following:
- Some Anserine-type dragons have front feet instead of wings like the Sandshade Dragon
- Some Cobby-type dragons lack wings like the Royal Snout Dragon BigEarsQuake 2 (T/C) 11:32, 16 January 2024 (PST)
- Great catch BEQ! Yes, you're absolutely right, there appears to be several Anserine-style Dragons now that are atypical, including Chrono Loki Dragon, Bounty Hunter Dragon, Fire Mage Dragon, Hermes Dragon (and several more)! We will definitely need to adjust that description (and maybe others), thanks for noticing! Also, we now have a maintenance template for checking Dragon body types as they do occasionally get misidentified and need fixing, sometimes only identifiable by looking at our data. We haven't used that template in a while so a check is probably needed!
{{Check-BodyStyles|Anserine|offset=0}}
-- Using that on any edit page, and hitting preview (instead of saving), displays a gallery of that body type, allowing them to be compared and checked! :) It is only used for checking purposes due to it being inefficient otherwise. The "offset" value shows the next x number specified of results, if the results run over the default count limit of 200, so it shows the next x number of results specified. I'll see about adding a count to the bottom of that template so it's more clear when there are over 200.
- The Cobby body style is pretty new, we write as best we can in the absence of knowing what Gameloft might do or change, though using the template above, I can see now that some Cobby Dragons do have wings, it just took a while for them to emerge (e.g., Drakkar Dragon, Scarlet Harbinger Dragon, Altum Tenebrus Dragon, Heinrich Dragon etc.), so I think that one not mentioning wings is correct? Definitely some updates and corrections are probably needed, so if you spot more that might be incorrect (and you're welcome to try that template out to see), please do let us know -- this is much appreciated! PS. I can also check Dragons against the game data if you think a Dragon's body style is ambiguous and might be incorrect, I'll just need to know the names. | -- CrystalClear -- (talk) 13:10, 16 January 2024 (PST)
- Also, now that I think of it. I'm going to work on a solution so that the text on the category page is included on the individual pages, then there's no need to update two things with the same text. I'll get that going before I adjust the descriptions. | -- CrystalClear -- (talk) 13:41, 16 January 2024 (PST)
- Thanks for noticing and checking. By now I think it is pretty safe to say that there is at least 1 exception in every category. Why don't we remove the "Wings" column alltogether? | -- SoukupMi -- (talk / EMail) 14:59, 16 January 2024 (PST)

- Sure, whatever you feel is best! I'm going to finish the #lst inclusions and then move on to update stuff, I'm happy with whatever is decided. | -- CrystalClear -- (talk) 15:04, 16 January 2024 (PST)
- Ah, I understand now, it was the wings column that was wrong for Cobby as the first few didn't have them, then later they added some with wings. Yeah, that column is awkward (has a terrible label that I can't figure out how to make better) can be deleted easily in VE mode... I say go for it! :) Also, @BEQ, feel free to edit text directly on the Body Shapes page, it should be relatively short and concise but probably needs improvement as well as consistency fixes. The section tags allow each section's content to be included on the individual body style pages, so updating the category page text will now update those pages too! :D | -- CrystalClear -- (talk) 15:24, 16 January 2024 (PST)
- Thank you but I forgot to mention something: the description of the Seahorse-type Dragons says that they have wings, yet the Robin Hood Dragon is an exception (it doesen't have wings at all). "They often have wings" might be more accurate. BigEarsQuake 2 (T/C) 12:36, 28 February 2024 (PST)
- You're welcome. Yes, you're absolutely right! Change made, and thanks! :D | -- CrystalClear -- (talk) 20:35, 28 February 2024 (PST)
