Category:Buildings
From Dragon Mania Legends (DML) Wiki
Buildings are structures that typically need to be purchased, built, and Upgraded to progress in the game. Some buildings are essential to unlock needed features for Breeding, Hatching, Training, and battling Dragons. Other buildings offer practicality to Trainers, such as the Gold Vault, which allows Gold collection from all Habitats at once, but is limited to Trainers with an active VIP Status. Other buildings deal with aesthetics, such as the Fountain of Youth, which restores the baby form of any adult Dragon while allowing them to keep their enhancements, levels, and skills.
Building Actions
Some buildings, after being selected, have options for various actions:
- Information – for basic building information (if available).
- Upgrade – to access upgrade options (if upgradable and an upgrade is available).
- Sell – to sell the building (if sellable).
- Inventory – to store the building in inventory (if eligible for storage).
Obtaining
Some buildings are available at game start, some are unlocked by meeting certain prerequisites, and others must be purchased. Purchasing a building is done by pressing the Main Shop button, selecting the Construction tab, then selecting a Habitat, building, or decoration for purchase, and then placing it in an available island space.
Construction
Most buildings (excluding Decorations) undergo a construction process after purchase, where a requisite amount of time must pass before construction is manually finished, and the building can be used. Buildings under construction display scaffolding around them. The scaffolding displays until the requisite time has passed, and the building is pressed to complete the process, at which time the scaffolding disappears. A timer appears over the building itself during construction, providing the time remaining until construction can be finished.
Note: See the page for each individual building (or habitat) page to determine purchasing costs or upgrade times (if applicable).
See Main Shop Construction for more information.
Time Reduction
Construction time can be skipped in exchange for Gems. This is done by pressing selecting the building, pressing the button, and then in the subsequent Speed up construction dialogue, pressing the Skip All button to confirm the spend amount. Members of a Clan have the added option, in the same dialog, to reduce construction timers using a Clan Fortress Power. The relevant power reduces all ongoing construction timers in exchange for a Clan currency by an amount dependent on Clan Fortress Level and League. Occasionally, a Time Reduction Notification appears above a building, notifying when watching an ad video is available in exchange for a time speed-up.
See Clan Fortress Powers and Clan Leagues for more information.
Sizes
Each building requires a certain amount of size to place it on an island. Though construction scaffolding may make it appear as though a building undergoing construction takes up more space, they occupy the same amount of space during construction as they do immediately after construction has completed. Below is a table listing the sizes, in squares, for all the movable buildings in the game.

Upgrading
Upgrading is the process by which buildings are improved to increase their utility, function, or output. Buildings that can be upgraded for Gold display an Upgrade button and an Instant Upgrade button in exchange for Gems. Other buildings are only upgradable for Gems, such as the Ancient Portal and some Habitats.
Note: See the page for each individual building's page to determine upgrade costs and times (if applicable).
Information Button
Many buildings, if fully upgraded, display an Information button which gives basic information about the building. Some buildings always display this button, the Breeding Den for example, and others don't provide the option at all, such as Temples.
Selling
Some buildings can be Sold in exchange for Gold, though it is rarely beneficial to do so, since the amount obtained from selling is considerably less than the buying price. Sellable buildings include the Fountain of Youth, Farms, and the Gold Vault.
Storing
Few buildings can be stored in Inventory since many are permanent structures and unmovable. Others can be moved but are necessary for gameplay, as such they cannot be stored. Buildings that can be stored include Farms and the Dragon Vault (if empty).
Moving
A single object is moved by pressing and holding it until move options activate, indicated by X buttons below it and move arrows on each side. Green move arrows indicate sufficient space in the currently chosen area to place an item, gray arrows indicate not enough. Move the object by dragging, or by pressing the move arrows or the destination, then press the or X button to accept or cancel.
Edit Mode moves multiple objects, once move options are activated as described above, after pressing the button. Moving or swapping instructions appear:
- Select one or more objects to move them at the same time.
- Swap two objects by selecting them and pressing the button.
- Store multiple objects in inventory by selecting them and pressing the Inventory button (for eligible buildings or objects only).
Dragging or pressing a destination a does not move objects in Edit Mode, the initial state is selection-only; instead, pressing the Move button enables these options, the base of all objects turns green or gray indicating if there's enough space to move the items to as a unit.
