From Dragon Mania Legends (DML) Wiki

The Archipelago (group of islands) is the location in which the game takes place, and it consists of 15 primary islands. On each island, there is limited space to place buildings and decorations.

When first unlocked, each island is covered in obstacles that must be cleared. Each island has 3 different-sized obstacles, for which a certain amount of In-Game Currency or real money is required to purchase it. When an island is available for purchase, one of the following signs appear on it indicating its purchase method, after which time the Unlock button is used to buy it:

Sign Purchase Method
Coins Sign.png Purchased using Gold Icon.png Gold.
Tycoon Island Buyboard.png Purchased using Yellow Dungeon Token Icon.png Dungeon Tokens.
Premium Buyboard.png Purchased using real money.

Overview

Islands can only be purchased in the order they become available, except for pay-islands, which can be purchased at any time.

Visiting

Island Visit.jpg

Trainers have the option to visit each other's islands to view or help. During a visit, most objects present on another Trainer's islands are selectable, but cannot be interacted with. Selecting an object provides its name and, when applicable, its level. Habitats can also be selected to view the Codex Entries of residing Dragons.

During a visit, depending on the privacy settings of the visited Trainer, their name, active badge, Player Level, avatar, number of unique Dragons, DCL points, and their VIP Level (if active) is shown. The visitor can Compare Dragon collections Compare Icon.png by pressing the Compare Button.png button, or check the Trainer's profile by pressing the Check
Profile
button. Trainers with an active VIP Status have a purple background, while the others have a black background.

Lastly, in the top-right corner, a long string of characters composed of numbers and letters is seen, that allows Gameloft to better investigate that Trainer when needed, such as in the case of misbehavior or cheating.

Visiting is done by using the Visit button through:

Timer Boost

Timer Boost Bar.png

When a Trainer visits another, regardless if on each other's friend list or not, the option to reduce Boost Timer Icon.png appears, allowing timers to be shorted by 3 minutes for ongoing harvesting, or by 5 minutes for another building. A building eligible for time reduction displays the Blue-Bordered Boost Timer Icon.png above it. The option to reduce timers is available only to the Breeding Dens, Hatchery, Farms, Dragon Academy, ruin exploration, building construction and upgrading and obstacle removing. Using this option, rewards the visiting Trainer with Friendship Points.

If more than 1 egg is currently in the Hatchery, only the one with the lowest remaining time benefits from the boost. Any time reduction exceeding the remaining hatching time is deducted from the next egg in the hatching order. In contrast, all farms benefit from time reduction at the same time.

The amount of time boosters available for the visited Trainer, and the number of remaining Trainers time boosters for during the current day, appears in the top-left corner of the screen. The ? button provides additional information about time boosters.
